The Journey

Hi! I’m Julian, a Canadian-based artist, and long-time educator. My path to artistry has been entirely self-driven. Rather than relying on a traditional art school degree; I spent years deconstructing the fundamentals to seeing and drawing in 3D. Countless hours have been spent learning from professional resources to find the most efficient way to teach these concepts.

I founded this academy to give young creators the "fast way"—the technical foundation I had to build for myself. By stripping away the mystery of "talent," I provide a roadmap for students to master the logic of space, volume, and structure. Of course, art wouldn’t be art without fun, and there will be much fun to be had!

My main interests include art, animation, the outdoors, science fiction, and anything to do with the natural world. Fun fact, I’m also completely fluent in Mandarin Chinese. The inner imaginative child is still very much alive in me and that allows my to keep common ground with the younger generation.

The Power of the Draftsman

We aren't just teaching students to make "pretty pictures." We are training the next generation of draftsmen. Draftsmanship is the bridge between art and engineering. While most art classes focus on "copying" what the eye sees, I teach students to understand what the eye sees. We build from the inside out. My methodology is rooted in Analytical Construction—the same visual engineering used by architects, concept artists, and industrial designers to build the worlds we see in movies and video games.

When a child learns to think like a draftsman, they aren't just drawing a shape; they are creating an object that holds weight, occupies space, and obeys the laws of physics. In fact, once this type of thinking is learned it stays on 24/7, every object becomes another puzzle or challenge to solve in the realm of 3D.

In a world full of flat screens and AI-generated imagery, the ability to pick up a pen and accurately draft a 3D idea from nothing is an increasingly rare and valuable skill. I’m here to give your child the technical discipline to not just dream up worlds, but to build them with authority.
